Honors Faculty Service Award

The award recognizes excellence in honors advising, instruction, committee work and other honors initiatives and responsibilities that have enhanced the quality of education available to honors students in the arts and sciences. The recipient receives a one-time award of $1,000.

This year's recipient of the ASC Honors Faculty Service Award, Professor Olli Tuovinen, microbiology, as Microbiology Honors Advisor has made significant contributions to Honors advising both at the department and college level, serving as the microbiology department liaison to the Arts and Sciences Advising Office. Everything he does, nominators say, is carried out in a way that makes students feel they have a supportive ally.
